Hey there.

My name is Dayna. I'm 26, a stay-at-home mom of two, and married to a dark handsome feller named Steve. We met when we were in high school in Maryland, and dated for a year before he left on a 2 year mission for our church in Bolivia. When he got home, he suckered me in with his ways and we were engaged to be married 4 months later. One little problem... I was only 19 years old!  Being the over-thinker that I am, and scared to take the plunge, I called off the wedding. Steve was bummed. I was bummed. But it was a good thing. We had almost 2 years to grow up, and when I couldn't stand being away from my best bud any longer, I asked him to marry me and we were sealed for time and all eternity in the Washington DC Temple in the fall of 2006.

We lived the newlywed life while living in Provo and going to school at BYU. We both walked together the spring of 2009. On July 11th, 2009 we had our daughter Jayne Middie. She is smart, spunky, beautiful, hilarious, strong-willed, silly, sweet, and truly amazing. She loves her monkey, watching movies, and drinking bottles.  Steve received his degree in Latin American studies that summer, and I received my degree in Marriage Family and Human Development the following June of 2010 (took a little longer with a baby...).  Vincent Eric joined the family on February 15th 2011. He is a sweet boy who loves to laugh, hates to snuggle, loves his doggy and binky, and is quite the little walker now. We are all in love with him.

Steve is an all-things-soccer-related lover and has been playing the game since he was a young chap. We recently moved to Chile where he is assistant-coaching for a professional team here in Santiago.  Our days are spent poolside, eating fresh fruit and croissants, people-watching, exploring the city, taking lots of pictures, and trying to learn Spanish (well, not Steve, since he is already fluent... no fair). We miss our families and friends at home, but you see, we can't really complain!

We like eating great food, traveling, Bill Cosby, working out, green smoothies, taking pictures (like sweet jumping ones cause, you know, we're cool like that...) and photography, hanging out with friends, watching TV marathons and movies, playing with our kids, listening to music, and finding cool stuff online. We think being parents is pretty awesome.

We're Mormon and we believe in Jesus Christ.  You can learn more about what we believe by clicking on my "we believe" link on the left over there <----------------------

My blog is a spot for me (and on the rare occasion Steve) to document my "usual show" - the recent happenings with my family, thoughts on mothering and life in general, yummy recipes, photography, style, and whatever else I happen to enjoy or find interesting.... you know, the usual stuff.  I blog because it's fun!  It is a hobby that I love, a great resource for updating family and friends who live so far away, and a great space to keep memories I (and my family) can later look back on and enjoy.

I hope you'll enjoy reading. Peace out.
