atlantis part 1

Photobucket

bahamas pictures at last! posting these pictures makes me miss that place so bad. it was such a nice break from the bitter cold utah weather, and the best was being able to bring jayne outside! how we missed the outside! we are stuck indoors every day here in provo. it is just too frigid cold to brave the outdoors together. so it was so awesome to be able to spend all day out in the sun, letting jayne see and discover the new things around her.

the traveling went over really well. i was worried that jayne might be a bit harder to manage on the long flights now that she is bigger but she did great. she's a trooper.

all the taxis in bahamas are apparently limos. so we all got to ride in a limo to our hotel. josephine was loving her first time in a limo (well, everyone was loving it) and we had to capture jayne's first time too.

when we got our stuff situated in the hotel, we headed over to the restaurants and shops at the pier. we saw all the amazing yachts docked (it would be so fun to take a tour of them all), and danced outside to some music while waiting for our table at johnny rockets. after eating some yummy hamburgers we headed to bed.

since the following day was sunday, we went to church that was just over the bridge on the other island. everyone there was so nice and they were lovin' (and i mean LOVIN') jayne. i guess her bright white skin, light hair, and blue eyes attracted a lot of attention from the much darker skinned people there. it was pretty cute. they are all so friendly there. after church we took a drive around some of the island, seeing some really cool beach houses. it would be fun to have a place there. we spent the rest of the day walking around atlantis, checking out some of the cool pools, and then headed back to the hotel and played some fun games. for dinner we headed over to the pier again. this time they had some fun activities going on. they had all these crazy head pieces that little kids could put on and dance around in. it was fun to enjoy the warm weather and walk around. we had pizza and then called it a night.

the first day at the bahamas jayne was a tad hesitant of the water. i made the mistake of bringing her in one of the cold pools that had waves in it, and when i set her down on the shallow end i kind of overestimated little neener's size, and the waves that i thought were tiny were actually quite large from her perspective and they hit her in the face and she was crying. i felt so bad. so instead we took her to a much calmer and warmer baby pool and eased her to the idea of water again. it took a day for her to warm up to it and by the second day she was loving it!!! there are a ton of pools at atlantis and there is one right by our hotel that is exceptionally warm and jayne was loving swimming in that pool. we would take her in and let her kick her legs, put her head under the water, swim around, it was so fun! we also loved going on walks along the beach with her, letting the ocean water splash up against her feet and legs. it was so fun being able to enjoy this with her and we were glad she was finally at the age to be able to enjoy it.

jayne on the first day in her hippo suit. before the water scare... and btw- the suit i am wearing which i know you are all thinking is so cute- because of course it is ;) was made by my sister crystal. she made it. by herself. she has some serious talent and i want her to make more just for me! check out her blog on my sidebar.

second day.. jayne loving the pool and the beach. please ignore my crazy poofy bun on the top of my head (which sadly was like that every single day outside to keep it out of my face) and the oversize sun glasses that cover my whole face (we kinda grabbed what we could find in a rush to pack). do, however, take note of the gorgeous water and blue skies in the following pictures...

one night steve's parents stayed in with max and josephine while the rest of us ate at one of the buffet's in one of the hotels at atlantis. the food was awesome. we ate until our heart was content and then walked around the hotel to take some pictures by the beautiful christmas trees they had displayed. afterwards we headed back to the hotel and had a fun photo shoot with jayne. she was being so darn cute we couldn't resist going a little overboard.

oh my...bahamas would be divine right now. it doesn't look like they have quite as much inversion there.

And I cannot believe that you had a baby just a few months ago. You look AWESOME! I only hope I am in such great shape after having a baby.

Looks like such a fun trip- I've heard that hotel is awesome! Oh- and I'm proud of you for really finishing up BYU. I did a few independent study classes and I kept having to get extensions. gOing to class itself will be much better and more fun!

What an amazing tropical paradise! I love the photos of Jayne just lounging and relaxing-- so funny! I also love her little swimsuits and that white hat--darling.

Your sister has some major talent! (As does Monette.) Wow!
